The Linux-based cluster solution provides automatic connectivity. A cluster consisting of at least one SpycerBox can be scaled and expanded easily with additional cluster nodes. A DVS Import Gate makes the storage solution location-independent and enables data encryption, providing customers with flexibility and security. Archive options and sophisticated caching algorithms are also available. Single-point administration simplifies management of the cluster solution. Backup and restore functions can be controlled by time and rules.
With internal RAID 5-protected storage, SpycerBox provides capacity for 24 TB of data in a single box. The SpycerBox cluster solution implements Spycer data-management software and enables high-speed copying as well as searching and editing of images and their metadata. Its InfiniBand interface supports multiple 20 Gb/s streams within the cluster, between individual nodes, and to systems across the workflow. Customers have a broad range of interfaces: alongside InfiniBand, SpycerBox provides 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel, 1 Gb/s and 10 Gb/s Ethernet, eSATA, FireWire, and USB.
