Black Box’s HD View series distributes, controls and manages multimedia content. It transmits signals over distances of up to 300 metres. Receiver units can also be daisy-chained, allowing display devices such as video walls, individual screens and information displays to be installed beyond the range of a single link. An integrated RS-232 function supports grouped broadcast control of connected screens. Individual displays can also be controlled and queried bidirectionally. Axel Bürger, Managing Director of Black Box Deutschland GmbH, said user authentication restricts changes and configuration to administrators or designated user groups.
The product range comprises transmitter and receiver units, an eight-port splitter and a video tuner, and can be configured for each application. Its modular design allows the system to be expanded. Bürger added that simple installation and low maintenance requirements were intended to reduce investment costs. A power-control function can switch an entire display network or selected monitor groups on and off, helping reduce display wear and extend service life.
