The instant36 impromptu film festival is now looking for filmmakers willing to take on a special competition. The task is to conceive, shoot and edit a short film in 36 hours. A challenge for amateurs and film professionals alike.
This year’s festival kicks off on May 3, 2008. At 10 in the morning, the topic the short films are to address will be announced. Just 36 hours later, the teams must deliver finished films. The best of them will be shown on May 17 at a big screening party at ARGEkultur Salzburg.
Participation in the festival is possible throughout Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Drop-off points for the films will be set up in several cities. Anyone who registers on the website by April 25, 2008 can take part. Participation is free!
The festival is taking place for the fourth time this year. instant36 is organised by students on the MultiMediaArt degree programme at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.
The participating film teams have less than two days for idea development, shooting and postproduction. The festival has shown in recent years that extremely interesting films can be made in 36 hours. For example, the film “Keiner Tanzt Für Den Kaiser”, which Sigrid Nagele produced for the festival, was shown at the DIAGONALE last year.
