With estimated US box-office takings of around $126.0 million in four days, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (German distributor: UPI) achieved the second-best Memorial Day opening ever in the United States. Worldwide box-office takings after four days total around $269.0 million, and the film is on course to become the most successful Indiana Jones film of all time.
The enthusiastic response from German audiences has also produced major success. More than 1,200 admissions per print over the opening weekend and a total audience of more than 1.07 million to date mean that “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” has earned a Bogey—a Box Office Germany Award—in two categories.
Entertainment Media Verlag presents the award for more than 1,000 admissions per print over the opening weekend and more than one million admissions within ten days.
