Pinnacle Systems, Avid Technology’s consumer division, is launching Pinnacle Studio 12. Building on the established Studio family, the leading consumer video-editing product in Europe and the US, Studio 12 adds more than 25 features, some derived from professional editing. All three editions include the easy-to-use Pinnacle Montage feature for creating animated effects, plus additional titles, DVD menus, templates and new professional audio and video controls.
The right version for every user
The family includes Studio, Studio Plus and Studio Ultimate. Plus and Ultimate add advanced audio and video tools, including complete HD editing.

Market researcher Jon Peddie said video editing is expanding to younger users who want fast web publishing, family memory keepers using slideshows and video, and growing numbers of over-50 hobbyists who want enjoyable, uncomplicated editing.

Video clips and photos with hi-fi audio, transitions and effects
The Montage feature combines multiple video layers, animated text and graphics through more than 11 themes and 80 templates. All editions add color controls, timeline markers, PSD and GIF importing, and MP3, Flash Video, WAV and 3GP export, plus direct YouTube publishing.
Expanded audio features
New audio tools include numeric volume display, master-volume control, timeline VU meters and peak indicators. Album cross-references improve searching, automatic cropping removes black bars, and performance, 2D editing, effect rotation, titles and DVD-menu content are enhanced.
Complete HD and Blu-ray editing
Studio 12 Plus and Ultimate can burn BDMV Blu-ray discs with animated menus and support AVCHD 1920 and HD camcorders from JVC, Canon and Sanyo. Ultimate includes a green screen and ProDAD Vitascene transitions and lighting effects, Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks for tone, color and sharpness, and Boris Graffiti for 2D/3D vector title animation.
