To make news production highly efficient, TV2 Denmark now uses a complete Avid-based digital production workflow including Avid Unity ISIS, Avid Interplay with Assist and Access, Avid Productivity Tools, Avid iNEWS Instinct, NewsCutter XP and an upgrade of Avid’s latest iNEWS newsroom computer system.
TV2 Development Director Kjeld Skovlund said the broadcaster chose Avid because it needed a reliable, stable and error-free workflow that could go on air quickly and support normal commercial operations. He said Avid contributed significantly to smooth change management, technical support, service and training.
TV2 developed the new system in three areas:
· A new news and sports production facility in Copenhagen,
· Expansion of the main Odense facility for news and sports production, and
· A managed-services solution for launching the new 24-hour TV2 News channel.

Over three months, Avid and TV2 News first built a temporary production facility from scratch. Avid analyzed workflows and installed a specially designed end-to-end production system. In parallel, it created new facilities at TV2’s Copenhagen headquarters and led the technical consolidation of four systems into one, covering software, hardware, setup, service and training.
Avid’s Jonathon Howard said the modern production environment and news-specific infrastructure would establish TV2 as one of Europe’s most advanced broadcasters and support its goal of a centralized, fully integrated environment across two sites.
