EA and Crytek are developing the next chapter in the Crysis saga with Crysis Warhead. The PC shooter tells a story that runs parallel to the plot of the award-winning game Crysis. Crysis Warhead is the first title to be developed at Crytek’s Budapest studio. With technology from an enhanced and optimized CryENGINE 2, players can expect maximum gameplay enjoyment.
Cevat Yerli, CEO and president of Crytek, said: “We were delighted by the response Crysis received from players and the media. One of the cornerstones of our philosophy is always to raise the bar a little higher. With Warhead, we are focusing on refining both the way we tell the story and performance. Players can, of course, once again look forward to impressive graphics and open-ended gameplay.”
David DeMartini, vice president and global general manager of EA Partners, added: “For us, the best result of a partnership is when a first-class independent studio decides to continue working with us. Crysis is a fantastic game and an absolute blockbuster franchise. We are thrilled to release the next chapter, Crysis Warhead, this year.”
In Crysis Warhead, players put on the Nanosuit of Sergeant Sykes—better known as Psycho. The popular character takes a much more direct and aggressive approach than his Delta Force comrade Nomad. Warhead presents a story that runs parallel to Crysis and takes the player to the other side of the island.
Psycho’s Nanosuit is just as well equipped as Nomad’s and offers every capability needed to face the new dangers. He also has access to more customizable weapons and new vehicles.
Alongside the new single-player campaign, Crysis Warhead also offers new multiplayer content.
