Following IRON MAN, Marvel Studios is now ready to score its second comic-book coup with THE INCREDIBLE HULK. With star power and an action-tested director, Variety says fans can already look forward to “a perfectly solid summer action fare.”
Exposed to radiation through biochemical experiments, scientist Bruce Banner (EDWARD NORTON) lives on the margins of society. An uncontrollable force lies dormant in his body: at the slightest hint of anger, he mutates into Hulk, a gigantic green monster. Every search for an antidote has so far failed, and time is running out. General “Thunderbolt” Ross (WILLIAM HURT) is pursuing him with the full force of the military in order to exploit these powers brutally for his own purposes. But Banner refuses to give up, fighting for a life without superpowers and with Ross’s daughter Betty (LIV TYLER), whose love for the scientist knows no bounds.

Just as a cure for Banner finally appears within reach, the all-destroying beast Abomination emerges. Mutated super-soldier Emil Blonsky (TIM ROTH) has subjected himself to experiments similar to Banner’s out of sheer lust for power—and his destructive fury far exceeds that of the green giant. Can Hulk withstand the power of this opponent?
With a budget of approximately US$150 million, director Louis Leterrier (“The Transporter,” “Transporter 2,” “Unleashed”) relies on major names for his production of “Hulk.” Edward Norton (“Fight Club,” “25th Hour”) stars as Bruce Banner / Hulk and also worked on the screenplay alongside Zak Penn (“X-Men: The Last Stand”). Liv Tyler (“The Lord of the Rings 1–3”) plays Betty Ross, whose father General Thunderbolt Ross is portrayed by Oscar® winner William Hurt (“A History of Violence,” “Mr. Brooks”). Tim Roth (“Pulp Fiction”) rounds out the high-profile cast as evil incarnate, Abomination.
