As part of the Design2Cost product family, the planning data works in harmony with Allplan IBD Architecture and Industrial Construction, enabling architects, civil engineers and cost planners to work in an integrated way.
“The demands for cost-effective, error-free and on-schedule planning will continue to increase in the future,” says Peter Mehlstäubler, Managing Director of Nemetschek Allplan GmbH. “The new CAD planning data addresses these requirements by enabling a continuous workflow without media discontinuities and therefore optimum planning results.”
The new planning data makes working with Allplan BIM 2008 even more productive and faster: 29 assistants provide a wide range of ready-to-use components, lines, symbols and other objects for almost every application. Users select the required element in the assistant. A single mouse click is enough, and the generated objects are automatically placed on the correct layer. All formatting properties, such as line weight, line type and colour, are already set appropriately. This largely eliminates the laborious entry of parameters in dialog boxes.
Planning without media discontinuities
Allplan IBD 2008 Engineering supports a continuous workflow and avoids redundancy in planning. For example, only one central model needs to be created. Users can then switch between different plan and drawing types at the touch of a button, such as layout, formwork or reinforcement drawings. Visibility and formatting properties are adjusted automatically. Correct plan presentation is ensured in every case—regardless of whether intelligent components or simple lines are used. This enables a practical hybrid workflow in which components can be freely combined with lines and other 2D elements.
A consistent office standard
Allplan IBD 2008 Engineering automatically ensures correct assignments and optimum data structuring in the background, relieving users of time-consuming administrative tasks. It also ensures compliance with a consistent office or project standard. Even inexperienced users can get started quickly and immediately find their way around every project. The result is fewer sources of error and shorter turnaround times. Another positive side effect of using the CAD planning data is visually appealing documentation and visualisations, allowing engineering practices to market their work even more effectively.
Prices and availability
The German-language version of Allplan IBD Engineering is available for Microsoft Windows and can be purchased from authorised specialist dealers. The promotional price until December 15, 2008 is €695 excluding VAT.
