Under their existing agreement, the two companies are planning a new generation of videoconferencing systems that will provide unprecedented management of telepresence and HD videoconferencing. The following agreements have also been reached:
- HP will invest in expanding its service capabilities. These will support all technologies, from high-end telepresence solutions and standards-based HD videoconferencing endpoints to the video-network equipment of the HP Halo Video Exchange network.

HP will continue to develop and offer high-end telepresence solutions.

TANDBERG will develop additional telepresence endpoint systems across high-end, instant and personal telepresence solutions. These will also include network equipment that enables management functions for enhanced managed services at the endpoints.

The two companies will jointly promote open industry standards to advance vendor-independent, cross-company telepresence compatibility. This will be done in cooperation with other manufacturers of telepresence systems and communications providers.

HP and TANDBERG announced their collaboration in January 2007. Its goal is maximum interoperability and compatibility between their respective telepresence and videoconferencing systems. To this end, the HP Halo Gateway, based on TANDBERG technology and introduced in August 2007, seamlessly bridges videoconferencing solutions and the HP Halo telepresence system. This makes easy access to telepresence available to a wider group of users.
