Styled in a modern design matching the look of the professional HDV range, the compact and lightweight newcomer features ergonomically revised controls and other useful improvements, according to the company.
The new 701HDV video head continues Manfrotto’s success story of innovation and high performance in film and video. The stability and torsional rigidity of the HDV heads are well known and valued in the market. A further member of the family is now arriving with a weight of only 830 grams and a height of just 9.5 centimeters.
Despite its compact design and low weight, the video head can pan and tilt safely with a maximum load of four kilograms. This makes it the ideal partner for the latest generation of HDV and HD camcorders. The controls have also been ergonomically revised and now offer improved grip.
This makes motion control more precise and secure. The newly developed fluid cartridges also ensure smooth, even pan and tilt movements (360° / +90° / -60°). The video head can now be guided from either side while shooting. For this purpose, the
pan handle can be mounted quickly and easily on the left as well. An additional pan handle is also available as an option.
The 501PL quick-release plate is already well established and familiar from the larger models in the product group. It is now also used on the 701HDV. Its major advantage is the plate’s length: the total 58-millimeter sliding range allows even more precise and secure balancing to suit the camera’s weight and configuration. An easily visible spirit level and separate locks for panning and tilting perfectly complement the new 701HDV video head’s extensive features.
The new Manfrotto 701HDV video head is available immediately and costs €105.50 (recommended retail price excluding VAT).
