Paramount and Mitsubishi Electric Continue Partnership at IFA 2008

Blockbusters in Full HD around the clock and attractive prize draws every day.

Optimus Prime from Transformers and Po, the kung-fu-fighting panda, in high definition: Paramount will once again present its film heroes together with Mitsubishi Electric in Full HD quality at this year’s IFA. The two companies are thus continuing their successful partnership.

Paramount Home Entertainment will show clips from forthcoming Blu-ray highlights around the clock every day in the Mitsubishi Electric cinemas, including the action spectacle Transformers and the year’s CGI hit Kung Fu Panda. Preview trailers will also offer a look ahead to next year’s film hits in 1080p format.

Mitsubishi Electric’s home-cinema projectors with Full HD resolution will provide the appropriate cinema quality. The new premium HC7000 home-cinema projector, featuring a new design with a black special-effect finish, will celebrate its world premiere at this year’s IFA and project Optimus Prime and company onto the screen in high resolution for a private-cinema experience. In the other two cinema rooms, the HC6500 and HC5500 projectors will demonstrate their quality and create a genuine home-cinema atmosphere.

“We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with Mitsubishi Electric at IFA 2008,” says Torsten Nobst, Senior Production Manager at Paramount Home Entertainment. “The ideal combination of hardware and software gives true film fans a very special home-cinema experience.”

For the first time, Paramount will offer a bundle with Mitsubishi Electric featuring The Godfather. At the market launch of the HC7000, every customer who purchases the projector from a participating specialist retailer will receive the Blu-ray trilogy restored by Francis Ford Coppola free of charge. During the elaborate restoration of the film material, which took more than a year, The Godfather and The Godfather Part II were examined and processed frame by frame using state-of-the-art digital technology.

As in the previous year, visitors to the Mitsubishi Electric stand will also find attractive prize draws. One Full HD HC5500 projector will be given away among participants each day.

The Mitsubishi Electric stand at IFA is located in Hall 26A, stand 101/101A.
