Pixomondo’s crowd pipeline combines Massive and BehaveIT. Mohsen will give seminar participants an overview of the pipeline’s different aspects and the tools developed to manage the workflow efficiently.
Crowd choreography and simulation have always been among the most complex areas of the visual-effects industry. In recent years, films have featured outstanding crowd scenes that were technically impossible for a long time. Technical progress and the expectations of consumers and the industry have now risen so far that professional use of crowds is indispensable.
Intelligent crowds should interact with their surroundings independently. A well-designed crowd pipeline enables directors to avoid becoming absorbed in details and concentrate more fully on the production’s creative aspects.
Speaker Mohsen Mousavi is Lead FX-Crowd Technical Director and Head of Technology at Pixomondo. Crowd simulation, logic, procedural animation and complex effects scenarios are his passions. After developing many different crowd and effects tools himself, Mohsen joined Pixomondo as Lead FX-Crowd TD. He played a major role in the effects shots for “The Red Baron”, performing so well that the company gave him a new task: building a new crowd pipeline that enables an even more efficient workflow.
