This is an end-to-end solution that includes both the administrative side of acquiring and managing a television station and the technical handling of the entire television program.

Through a partnership with Step2e GmbH of Passau, ToolsOnAir can offer television broadcasters a continuous workflow on Apple. Editors have access to an editorial system that includes broadcast planning and a metadata-driven archive system. They can also manage all program-related workflows, such as voice-over scripts and lower-third text. The integrated scheduling system automatically or manually books purchased commercials over a specified period according to the customer’s budget, confirms them and passes them to the integrated accounting system. Based on Step2e’s program planning and scheduling, the exact running order is transferred to ToolsOnAir’s playout solution. This includes not only the items to be played but also the graphic text required for inserts.

ToolsOnAir’s real-time graphics solution, CompositionSuite, also enables television broadcasters to provide customers with real-time information throughout the day. News tickers, weather and traffic information, and stock-market charts obtain data from the internet in real time and display it on screen.

This cost-effective solution allows television stations to offer the information layer to customers as an additional advertising platform.
