On 22 August 2008, Europe’s largest computer games league gives the starting signal at the Games Convention trade fair in Leipzig for the thirteenth season of the eSport Bundesliga, the ESL Pro Series. With 170,000 euros, it is Germany’s most richly endowed league for professional computer gaming. On 12.09.2008, the league comes to the Tonhalle in Munich. In the disciplines Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike:Source and FIFA 2008 or Warcraft 3, professional players compete live in front of an audience for valuable points in the contest for the German championship in electronic sport and for 170,000 euros in prize money.
