SANYO is setting cinephiles’ hearts racing: with the new PLV-Z3000, the projector supplier crowns its high-definition home-cinema range. The high-end Full HD projector’s 120 Hz technology enables exceptionally clear and detailed images, especially in fast-moving scenes. With a contrast ratio of 65,000:1, home-cinema enthusiasts can now watch dark sequences in even better quality, accompanied by extremely low fan noise of just 19 decibels.
Visitors to Photokina 2008 in Cologne can experience the successor to the PLV-Z2000 live at SANYO’s stand F010/G019 in Hall 4.2 from September 23 to 28.
The PLV-Z3000 features a new technology that reduces unwanted image impairments such as artefacts in fast-moving scenes. Dynamic Predictive Frame Interpolation calculates intermediate frames from the original images, producing 120 frames per second instead of 60. This 5:5 pulldown mode makes action scenes in films and sports broadcasts appear considerably more natural and clear on the projection surface.
The new SANYO Full HD projector also offers an exceptionally high contrast ratio of 65,000:1. Its fundamentally improved contrast technology reduces the incidence of polarised light and thereby improves black levels. The PLV-Z3000’s variable, quiet light aperture also adjusts lamp output every 1/60 of a second, producing a more dynamic rendering of black and dark tones.
The lens’s fast response time particularly benefits action, sport and gaming enthusiasts. Home-cinema users can choose from seven preset video modes: Brilliant Cinema, Creative Cinema, Pure Cinema, Natural, Living, Dynamic and x.v. Color. The new Advanced Image Mode provides an extended colour space with more—and more natural—colours over HDMI.
The PLV-Z3000’s Full HD panel provides 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and reproduces data from a wide variety of Full HD sources, including Blu-ray formats, with pin-sharp clarity. Even with large image sizes, the grid effect no longer appears on the projection surface, and images look as clear and detailed as those previously associated only with cinema screens.
Fan noise of just 19 decibels allows cinephiles to enjoy quiet film scenes without distraction. SANYO’s 3D colour-management system provides brilliant colour depth, reproducing primary colours 1,100 times more finely—around 2.16 billion combinations—than traditional models. Films and images in Full HD therefore gain substantially more natural colours.
Brightness of 1,200 ANSI lumens turns any living room into a cinema. Lens shift lets users adjust the picture vertically by up to three screen heights and horizontally by up to two screen widths to suit the room. The 2x wide-angle zoom enables large projections in both living rooms and smaller spaces.
Two Deep Color HDMI inputs, version 1.3b, ensure natural colour reproduction. An automatic lens cover protects the lens from dust and scratches when the projector is not in use. Extensive adjustment options also permit the use of anamorphic conversion lenses.
The PLV-Z3000 will be available from specialist retailers at the end of November for €2,290, including VAT.
SANYO offers a three-year warranty on the projector and a lamp warranty of 90 days or 300 operating hours.
