Demand for editorial video content for internet and multimedia applications is steadily increasing. Whether it is news footage on online portals or films for presentations, a film often says more than a thousand words.
The programme begins with a three-day seminar from 10 to 12 October, led by experienced television and video journalist Philipp Schild of Hessischer Rundfunk. Schild was trained as a video journalist by VJ pioneer Michael Rosenblum.
During the three-day seminar, participants learn all the fundamentals needed to produce a video-journalism report independently: from planning and preparation through shooting and editing to writing and voice-over. Practical work is always the central focus.
VJ School Hamburg is an initiative by Knut Ingwersen, Managing Director of Deutschlandreporter.de; journalist Christian Meyer; filmmaker Peter Redlinger; and Ulf Grüner of Service für Medien and publisher of the Web Video Handbook.
