Since 1983, ITVA has promoted the use of audiovisual media in communication processes at businesses and institutions in Germany through information, continuing-education offerings and specialist events. As evidence and recognition of exemplary audiovisual communication solutions, the association presents its annual Pyramid Awards to innovative industrial and service companies.

At this year’s ITVA Gala Festival, held at Photokina in Cologne on September 26, 2008, the association honoured MACKEVISION Medien Design GmbH with the Golden Pyramid in the “Design and Motion/Postproduction” category. The CGI service provider received the award for the craftsmanship, creative artistry and innovative execution of a 3D product film for the automotive industry. In this racetrack animation, both the vehicle and the entire background environment were generated on a computer.

“With the Mercedes SLR design film, we wanted to demonstrate the virtually limitless possibilities of 3D visualisation, both technically and creatively. For us, this award is further proof of the artistic level that can now be achieved with CGI,” explains Jürgen Weyrich, who is responsible for New Business Development at MACKEVISION and accepted the prestigious award on the company’s behalf.
