Fly Me to the Moon 3D

The Apollo 11 mission was not only a giant leap for mankind, but also for three young houseflies. In Fly Me to the Moon 3D, Nat, Scooter and IQ realise their dream and travel to the Moon aboard the legendary Apollo 11 mission.

Fly Me to the Moon 3D, the first feature-length film conceived and produced entirely for exclusive release in 3D, will open in German cinemas on 18 December. The 84-minute animated film by 3D veteran Ben Stassen is presented by nWave Pictures and Fantasia Film GmbH & Co. Verleih KG.

Our hero Nat wants to emulate his daring grandfather and become a great adventurer. Ambitious Nat is happy to defy the view, widespread among flies, that dreamers quickly become victims of the flyswatter, and tells his friends about his heroic plan: to fly to the Moon aboard the Apollo 11 mission.

Although IQ and Scooter hesitate, the three stowaways soon find themselves inside the helmets of the astronauts around Neil Armstrong, awaiting the countdown at Cape Canaveral. The small adventurers prepare to make history in their homemade spacesuits.

But Nat’s mother and grandfather are not the only ones who spot their offspring in a television broadcast of the mission. The NASA team informs Armstrong about “contaminants” aboard. Nor is this the insects’ only problem in space: in the Soviet Union, flies are determined to prevent their American counterparts from reaching the Moon first. Only the beautiful Russian fly Nadia can help our astronauts, because Nadia and Nat share a special connection.
