The visual effects for “The Wonder of Loch Ness,” a Rat Pack/Alpha Filmtime Medienproduktionen production commissioned by SAT.1, received the award. TRIXTER had already won the 2008 Bavarian Television Award for the film and now followed it with the 2008 German Television Award. The secret star of “The Wonder of Loch Ness,” directed by Michael Rowitz, is the druid Oki, a fully computer-animated character. Voiced by Rufus Beck, narrator of the German “Harry Potter” audiobooks, he introduces the boy Tim to the secrets of Loch Ness. The DIGITAL PRODUCTION editorial team congratulates TRIXTER on this important television award.
TRIXTER prevailed over Denis Behnke of Scanline VFX for “The Hunt for the Treasure of the Nibelungs” (RTL/Dreamtool Entertainment GmbH & Co. KG), and Christian Riebe and Christian Pokorny of CA Scanline Production GmbH, Thomas Zauner and Michael Mielke for “Tarragona—A Paradise in Flames” (RTL/ZEITSPRUNG Entertainment GmbH/EOS Entertainment GmbH). Interestingly, all three nominated VFX companies are based in Bavaria.
