GreatVideo!HD is configured to play true high-definition H.264 1080i video optimally when recorded with the Casio Exilim Pro EX-F1 digital camera or Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1000 HD digital camcorder. The software supports real-time playback of every version of the H.264 video-file format, regardless of the recording device.
A simple double-click on the HD video file plays it. GreatVideo!HD automatically opens and decompresses the file and plays the video in real time, without transcoding, converting or downloading it first. GreatVideo!HD uses QuickTime technology in a unique and proprietary way to display interlaced 1080i high-definition video in QuickTime Player.
Computer screens are designed for progressive-scan display, but the most common HD video format uses interlaced video. GreatVideo!HD supports both progressive-scan HD formats such as 1080p and 720p, and 1080i interlaced video. H.264 1080i HD video is the most widely used format in cable and satellite television, as well as in a growing number of HD video cameras.
