The SatCorder neptune Full-HD 1080i satellite receiver, unveiled at IFA, is now available. TrekStor, a leading manufacturer of high-quality MP3 players, external hard drives and USB sticks, is offering a premium satellite receiver for high-definition HDTV and standard television for the first time, strengthening its position in the home-entertainment market.
The device becomes a video recorder when external storage devices such as hard drives or USB sticks are connected. The SatCorder neptune Full-HD 1080i has already been named both test winner and energy-saving winner by SATVISION magazine. Other specialist publications have also recognized it: Audio Video Foto Bild rated it good and affordable, while Video-HomeVision and EMPORIO each awarded it a very good rating.
Satellite receiver for HDTV can also be used as a video recorder
The new SatCorder neptune Full-HD 1080i can record programs in HD quality to USB storage devices and play them back. Hard drives and USB sticks can be connected to the device simply and easily to watch the programs stored on them. This also enables the practical time-shift function, which allows viewers to pause a live television program at any time and continue watching it later. The satellite receiver can also record exciting films airing during a video evening in parallel without difficulty.
Additional technical specifications
The SatCorder neptune Full-HD 1080i plays MPEG-2 video standards (TRP Transport Stream, DVD-IFO) and MPEG-4 (TRP, Xvid) when the files are stored on a device connected via USB 2.0. It also supports playback of MP3 files and M3U playlists. Photo albums can be viewed in JPEG format. HD-quality playback is possible on a display connected via HDMI.
At the same time, the content can also be played back in standard quality on a second television or video recorder. The SatCorder neptune Full-HD 1080i supports 16:9, 4:3 and letterbox aspect ratios and has two CI slots for expansion modules used to decrypt pay-TV channels. In addition to conventional star-topology cabling, the SatCorder neptune Full-HD 1080i also supports innovative Unicable™ technology. This enables satellite signals to be transmitted over a single cable to multiple receivers, eliminating complicated wiring.
