More Than 10,000 webEdition Downloads

The web content management system webEdition 6 is attracting strong interest. Shortly after its release as open-source software, manufacturer Living-e AG recorded more than 10,000 downloads. In the first 48 hours alone, more than 7,200 webEdition downloads were made through http://www.webedition.de and a specially established mirror site.

Guido Polko, founder and Management Board member of Living-e AG, welcomed the strong response: “The download figures have far exceeded our expectations. It is wonderful to see that a webEdition fan community already appears to exist within the open-source community. We are extremely eager to see the first applications from the open-source community and our development team will help wherever it can. We see our primary role here as assuring the quality of the applications.”

What makes the open-source webEdition 6 distinctive is that users and developers are not left alone with the software; when needed, they can obtain professional technical support from the manufacturer’s development team. In addition to support tickets, training, project assistance and hourly services are available.
