Above all, the software includes numerous functions that enable electrical designers to develop circuit diagrams for control systems quickly and without errors—from simple motor controls to complex production facilities. Automated workflows, extensive electrical symbol libraries and comprehensive database-supported functions help prevent errors and produce electrical documentation in a fraction of the usual time. AutoCAD ecscad 2009 is the result of Autodesk’s acquisition and integration of Elektro-CAE-Software GmbH and its ecscad product line. The acquisition was completed in October.

“By integrating ecscad technology into our portfolio, we have significantly expanded our capabilities for electrical engineering. The Autodesk solution now supports a large number of companies in developing digital prototypes that contain both mechanical and electrical elements,” said Wolfgang Lynen, Industry Marketing Manager Manufacturing at Autodesk.

Attractive upgrade offers for existing ecscad customers

Autodesk is offering existing ecscad customers an attractive upgrade to the new AutoCAD ecscad 2009 version. Prices range from €1,000 to €1,600 excluding VAT, depending on whether a maintenance contract exists for ecscad LT, Basic or Pro. The software version—and therefore its age—does not matter. The upgrade is free for all customers who own ecscad Basic or ecscad Pro with a valid maintenance contract.
