The massively parallel architecture of Nvidia graphics processors enables visuals that are 10 to 20 times more detailed than conventional solutions. PhysX also supports hardware scalability to provide an additional performance boost on multi-GPU gaming platforms.

Based on a robust physics engine, API and software development kit (SDK), Nvidia PhysX technology is the most widely used physics solution in interactive entertainment and across all major gaming platforms. It is already used in more than 140 games and supports Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC. With GeForce GPU-accelerated physics, the world literally “comes to life”: walls can be torn down, trees bend in the wind and water flows realistically.

“PhysX is the definitive physics solution for all common platforms, and we are delighted to make it available to our developers worldwide,” emphasized Tim Wilson, Chief Technology Officer at EA Redwood Shores Studio. “Games remain our number-one focus, and realistic effects in dynamic, interactive environments are among the special challenges. We look forward to tackling them together with NVIDIA.”

“We are very impressed by the quality of the PhysX engine and have licensed it so that our studios can use the solution at an early stage of development,” explained Jacob Hawley, Technology Director at 2K. “Developing highly interactive games is our top priority. Working with technology leaders such as NVIDIA enables our teams to create great games.”

“PhysX offers enormous benefits for both developers and players, and we are thrilled that Electronic Arts and 2K Games have chosen PhysX to achieve a new level of realism in their games,” explained Ujesh Desai, Vice President, GeForce Desktop Business at NVIDIA.
