The two companies’ existing sales channels will remain in place and be organized as a joint distribution network covering Europe as well as the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.

To support growing business activity outside Europe, Link Research has established two regional offices in Singapore and Dubai. The Singapore sales office, which opened at the beginning of 2008, has moved to larger premises and now also provides technical support for both Link Research and MRC systems.

MRC manufactures systems for transmitting video data over microwave radio links, while Link Research is known primarily for its flexible wireless camera systems and compact SD and HD encoders with particularly low latency.

Together, the two companies offer a wide range of applications in broadcasting, military and surveillance. At present, Link Research cellular receive networks are operating in 37 cities worldwide, enabling camera operators to transmit live directly from the camera across a large urban area without relying on a satellite or cable connection.

John Mulcahy, Managing Director of Link Research:

“Conversations with our customers show that many broadcasters are very interested in our new systems and applications. There is enormous interest in cellular receiving systems for wireless cameras and in high-data-rate radio links for HD outside-broadcast vehicles.”
