CD-on-demand
At MIDEM 2009, arvato digital services will present its on-demand service. Many audio labels have extensive back-catalogue repertoires that can often only be reissued in small quantities. For them, purchasing the minimum quantities required by traditional manufacturing is not always profitable. arvato digital services offers these customers professional on-demand production.
This is a “burning service” for small runs of CDs and DVDs, including the production of inserts and booklets using digital printing. The media, label printing and printed materials are of high quality. The professional four-colour printing can produce booklets of up to 24 pages.
mSource
Another new product is “mSource,” the digital solution for the audio market. mSource is a platform that allows audio labels, distributors and publishers to manage and archive their catalogues online easily and conveniently, and to distribute products to their partners for digital sales.
The advantages are clear: content providers can concentrate fully on managing, marketing and planning releases for their catalogues, while arvato digital services’ mSource platform handles all the necessary technical processes in the background, including encoding, packaging, interfaces to numerous online shops and distribution. Customers do not need their own technical expertise and resources to supply online shops. The system has a user-friendly web interface, making it easy to operate.
CD X+
CD X+ is a new CD format for the audio industry. It combines the multimedia elements of music, text, graphics, photos, video and the internet on one CD. Notably, the format is compatible with all standard music players. At the heart of CD X+ is an audio player integrated into the disc. It allows every track to be played directly from the CD. In addition to displaying track names, the lyrics appear dynamically for reading and singing along.
The full range of CD X+ features can be experienced on conventional PCs: any PC running XP or Vista with a standard sound card is sufficient.
