After all of humanity has abandoned its completely polluted home planet for the vastness of space, cleaning up Earth is left to robots. Seven hundred years later, only the small robot WALL-E remains, tirelessly doing exactly what he was built to do: sorting rubbish and compressing it into small cubes. But after all those years alone in this world, the lovable fellow has developed a tiny defect: a personality. From then on, he suffers increasingly from loneliness. When the cool female robot EVE lands on Earth one day, WALL-E’s life is turned completely upside down. Soon, the future of Earth and the fate of humanity lie in his metal hands.
Successful director Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo”) tells the story of a heartwarming romantic journey through space and time in his new computer-animated masterstroke—packed with fantastic animation, many new characters and cosmically good extras. In addition to the WALL-E short Presto, the bonus material includes another film telling the story of BURN-E. BURN-E already has a role in WALL-E. The Pixar team was interested in what became of the little repair robot and turned it into a funny, perfectly animated story of its own.
