Autodesk has significantly reduced the price of its Autodesk Showcase 2009 solution. The high-end visualization tool now costs only €1,175. Autodesk Showcase can address questions about the aesthetics of form and ergonomics early in the development process, avoiding late-stage changes. The solution supports designers and engineers in optimizing product ergonomics, evaluating and selecting colors and materials, assessing design concepts and functionally reviewing designs. Autodesk Showcase 2009 is also exceptionally well suited to presenting products to decision-making bodies and, above all, during the sales phase. In addition to Alias and Inventor data, Showcase can display data from numerous other CAD systems, including SolidWorks, Pro/E, Siemens NX and CATIA.

“In markets where product functions and prices are barely perceived as differentiating features, emotional attachment to a brand and appealing industrial design are considered decisive reasons for a purchase. With Autodesk Showcase, we offer designers a high-quality tool that enables them to define and optimize design aspects and elements very early in the development process while establishing a product’s technical functions,” explained Wolfgang Lynen, Industry Marketing Manager for Manufacturing at Autodesk. “Customers want to see what their machine or system looks like. Convincing visualization with Autodesk Showcase helps sell—and that is more important today than ever,” Lynen emphasized.

Alongside the functions described, Autodesk Showcase enables real-time ray tracing and animation. Further information about Autodesk Showcase is available at http://www.autodesk.de/showcase or from Autodesk resellers.
