PICTORION das werk’s Munich, Düsseldorf and Berlin branches worked closely together on this project. Film recording and VFX scanning were completed in Munich, online scanning and VFX in Düsseldorf, and online/conforming and color correction in Berlin. Mistika finishing software played a central role in post-production.
For PICTORION das werk Berlin, Christian Tröger and Sven Heck completed the entire 2K DPX conform for the feature film “Hilde” on Mistika 4.0. One focus of the workflow was operational networking among the three locations. This was made possible primarily by Mistika 4.0’s open working approach and the company’s in-house VFX database. Mistika 4.0 was also used to create the dailies and perform continuous quality control.
Christian Tröger told us: “Mistika was an indispensable tool in our workflow! It was the only way we could guarantee the schedule through parallel working without compromising image quality. Using Mistika, we performed conforming, visual-effects work and retouching simultaneously while our colorists worked on color correction with the director and camera team in the cinema at the same time.” Sven Heck added: “Mistika once again proved itself to be a unique finishing tool at the operational center of a complex feature-film production.”
