Since October, the CLIPSTER DI workstation has been a central part of Hungarian post house Colorfront’s workflow. DVS’s flagship system performs high-speed DCI mastering and generates encrypted data packages, enabling sensitive film material to be transferred securely to international clients.
CLIPSTER replaces Colorfront’s previous DCI mastering system and significantly accelerates the process. Every step from Digital Source Master to Digital Cinema Package now takes place on one system, eliminating time-consuming transfers between components. DSM and JPEG 2000 material with audio can be played in realtime, making the process transparent and efficient.
CLIPSTER can check the finished DCP directly, allowing Colorfront editors to carry out quality control quickly and reliably. The company uses a 50 TB DVS SAN as central storage. Interaction between the SAN and CLIPSTER enables Colorfront to create DCPs from SAN material faster than realtime.
Alongside the encrypted DCP, the system generates a Key Delivery Message enabling certified recipients to access the digitally encrypted film created by Colorfront.
Founded by brothers Mark and Aron Jaszberenyi, Colorfront works on international film projects including Karchi Perlmann’s The Dinner, which received awards at the Venice and Cottbus film festivals.
