Acholiland received three honors at the 30th College Television Awards in Los Angeles.
The film won the drama award for producer Daniel M. Harrich, who also received the Bricker Humanitarian Award. Dean Israelite won the directing category.
The ceremony took place at Culver Studios. A record 712 films had been submitted.
FilmFernsehFonds Bayern supported Acholiland with €25,000 through its emerging-film program. The short about United Nations aid workers in northern Uganda was an American-German coproduction by Foreign Legion Productions, Bridges Larson Foundation, and AFI for Bayerischer Rundfunk, with support from Paramount Studios.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation presented the awards, commonly known as the College Emmys.
FFF emerging-talent representative Julia Rappold said the prizes recognized the young Bavarian producer’s decision to make a film in the United States with international partners.
