Professional audio, video, and film-equipment specialist A.F. Marcotec marked its 25th anniversary in 2009. The company reported nearly 30-percent revenue growth in the first three months compared with the same period a year earlier.
Founded by Arno Finteis in 1984, Marcotec planned to strengthen its European market position and expand its e-commerce platform, including a new Polish online shop by the end of the second quarter. It also expanded customer service and support and moved its headquarters to Griesheim near Frankfurt.
Marcotec added service staff and support capacity in response to customers’ growing need for guidance on increasingly complex products. A 50-square-meter showroom at the new location allowed customers to test equipment and see demonstrations before purchasing.
“Only those who truly understand their customers’ wishes and put them first can survive in the long term,” said founder and Managing Director Arno Finteis. He argued that personal consultation, alongside product selection and quality, was essential to long-term success.
Partnerships with brands including Glidecam, Boland, and Panther expanded Marcotec’s professional camera-equipment range. The shop also carried products from less widely known manufacturers to offer a broad, vendor-independent portfolio of cameras, monitors, video mixers, and accessories.
