DVS introduced VENICE at NAB stand SL6920 as the first system in a product line for professional video. The video server records material directly from cameras, tape decks, P2 cards, and Professional Discs. Multiple editing systems can begin processing ingested material immediately. Two independently controlled pairs of video channels provide input and output.
VENICE supports continuous production workflows with compressed video. It can create several file formats without delay and process SD and HD projects in parallel.
The system applies DVS’s digital-film experience to professional video and broadcast. Support for Avid DNxHD®, XDCAM, and DVCPRO families enables common MXF variants to be handled in file-based workflows. DVS positioned VENICE for reliable tapeless broadcast operation.
“Broadcasters face the challenge of supplying material quickly and at high quality,” said Bernhard Reitz, Head of Product Management at DVS. “VENICE provides a flexible tool for forward-looking, file-based broadcasting.”
