Learn the basics of building effective characters from figure skeleton to completed trickfilm figure.

Workshop schedule: 2.5 days / 25 hours
Friday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM CET
Saturday + Sunday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM CET

Location: Gelnhausen, Hesse, about 40 km east of Frankfurt.

Participants will gain an introduction to a variety of stop-motion character-building techniques and the materials used.

You can build your own figure and deepen your practical experience.

Topics covered in the theoretical portion:

  • Character rigging possibilities
  • Materials for constructing a stop-motion figure
  • Specific technical requirements of stop-motion characters

Topics covered in the practical portion:

  • Building a figure skeleton / wire armature
  • Building a humanoid stop-motion character on the armature
    using Plasticine, foam, Latex Milk and other materials
