ClipJOCKEY supports daily control-room workflows and enables file-based operation. The tool includes several functions also provided by S4M’s VPMS Video Production Management System. As a stand-alone solution, however, ClipJOCKEY is tailored to core control-room and production or post-production processes. It concentrates on the specific requirements of broadcasters and production companies during both ingest and playout. MOS-supported news formats, for example, can be handled without tape. Magazine programmes can also be pre-produced as file-based projects. The AddOn mode developed for this purpose provides the same convenience previously available only when recording to tape. A Multi-Channel Link feature supports key-and-fill applications and multicamera productions.
At Microsoft’s stand, S4M is also presenting Dynamics Media, a system based on Microsoft’s Dynamics AX business-management software. Dynamics Media is S4M’s out-of-the-box solution for broadcast-management tasks and consists of two modules. Dynamics Broadcast supports licence, material, and asset management as well as programme planning, while AdSales covers airtime sales and traffic management.
At its joint stand with Annova Systems, Solutions for Media is showing additional field-tested systems for managing individual channels, channel groups, and complete networks: S4Rights for licence and rights management, S4Schedule for programme planning, S4AdSales for sales, traffic, and advertising-time optimization, and VPMS for video content management. Annova and S4M are also demonstrating Annova’s OpenMedia newsroom system and S4M’s VPMS operating together in a shared workflow.
