NAB 2009: Panasonic Introduces Lower-Cost P2 E-Series

Panasonic announced lower-cost P2 E-Series cards with transfer rates up to 1.2 Gbit/s and capacities from 16 GB to 64 GB.

Panasonic introduced lower-cost P2 E-Series cards at NAB 2009.

The manufacturer specified transfer rates up to 1.2 Gbit/s, with a shorter service life than A-Series cards. Panasonic estimated five years when the complete card was written daily and ten years at 50% usage. An end-of-life warning appeared in the camera viewfinder. Longer-life A-Series cards remained available.

A 16 GB E-Series card was scheduled for May at approximately €300, with a 32 GB version at €450. A 64 GB card was scheduled for August at €720.
