The free event series was designed to show corporate customers how Apple products, the OS X operating system, standard office applications and the iPhone could optimize business processes and workflows while reducing costs. Attendees would learn how easy a Mac was to use and how simply it could be integrated into existing infrastructures with Mac OS X. A Mac could be introduced rapidly into a Windows network and connected to Microsoft Exchange with a few clicks.
The systems were also presented as offering further advantages over conventional PCs. CANCOM said Apple computers and Mac OS X kept operating costs low through virtual desktop infrastructure, while providing less downtime and security advantages despite rising demands, including automatic data backups.
Existing programs and Windows applications could continue to be used. Business tasks could therefore be completed on a Mac, from creating presentations and websites to online banking. Corporate customers and other interested visitors could test the claimed advantages at the free events, with Apple devices available during breaks.
