Autodesk held free online seminars on toolmaking and mould design at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 26 and June 9, 2009. The focus was the AutoCAD Inventor Tooling Suite, which enabled an end-to-end digital mould-development process.

The suite included functions from Moldflow Part Adviser for simulating injection moulding and optimising designs. Autodesk had acquired Moldflow in 2008 and was integrating its technology into Autodesk solutions. Alongside Inventor Tooling, it offered and continued developing Autodesk Moldflow Adviser and Autodesk Moldflow Insight. The 45-minute events primarily targeted mould makers.

“The free seminars provide insight into our new AutoCAD Inventor Tooling Suite, which combines end-to-end digital design and simulation,” said Autodesk Industry Marketing Manager Manufacturing Wolfgang Lynen. “Companies can reduce mould-development costs and further strengthen competitiveness.”
