The PT-LB78 joined Panasonic’s PT-LB range, combining high brightness with relatively low cost. Its Daylight View 4 function produced sharp images even in bright ambient light.
A specially developed sealed housing protected the projector. Touch-sensitive controls integrated into the casing replaced a conventional keypad. The largely dustproof enclosure opened at only one point for air intake, while airflow between inlet and outlet minimised contact between external air and the optical unit. A Micro Cut dust filter protected internal optical components. Panasonic said the optimised protection extended service life and maintained brightness.
Hartmut Kulessa, Panasonic Europe’s projector marketing manager, said projectors had become standard equipment in many professional applications, although cost sometimes made high-end functions inaccessible. He described the PT-LB78 as combining strong performance with an attractive price and expanding Panasonic’s portable-projector portfolio.
The dust-protected PT-LB family comprised six professional portable models designed for image quality, reliability and ease of use.
