Berlin-based brand architects dan pearlman media were among the winners in the “Training / Employee Orientated” and “Internal Communications / Employee Orientated” categories. The media specialists led by Media unit director Steffen Armbruster received a Silver Intermedia Globe for both the BMW Welt training film and the Lufthansa Corporate Design Clips.

The award-winning Lufthansa Corporate Design Clips comprised five films, each two to three minutes long, covering Lufthansa’s corporate identity in colour, form, logo, typography and sound. Based on a didactic and dramaturgical concept, the training films communicated brand knowledge compactly and embedded it sustainably among employees. Since 2008, Lufthansa employees had been able to access the German- or English-language clips for training on the company intranet.

The award-winning BMW Welt training film was developed for the various sales levels involved in BMW Welt processes. It informed internal BMW Welt staff and external process partners from BMW’s dealer organisation about vehicle-collection procedures. An interactive DVD let users explore the building’s architecture, vehicle-logistics processes and visitor flows virtually, then simulate the three-dimensional handover of new BMW vehicles to their owners. Its didactic and dramaturgical concept used interactive navigation to reproduce procedures and stations in animated detail, zooming from the building exterior through every level to employee-customer conversations.

For Berlin agency dan pearlman, as for the international communications industry, the WorldMediaFestival had been an annual fixture since 1999. As Europe’s only forum of its kind, it brought leading communications experts from countries including the United States, Belgium, China, Germany, India, Canada, Norway and Slovenia together with audiovisual media producers. Its Intermedia Globe competition ranked among the industry’s leading global competitions.

Under the international independent jury’s criteria, the Intermedia Globe measured not only creativity and technical excellence but also successful audience engagement. Gold and Silver Intermedia Globes were awarded across 14 main categories, including advertising, animation, corporate communications, documentaries and web.
