Wacom receives this year’s TIPA Award. The ceremony takes place today, June 10, 2009, at Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg near Cologne. Intuos4, the new pen-tablet system for creative professionals, was selected as Europe’s best digital accessory by the Technical Image Press Association. Voting took place at TIPA’s general assembly in Budapest, attended by editors from its 25 member photography magazines across ten European countries.
TIPA Chairman Thomas Gerwers says: “The scale of the Intuos4’s improvement over its predecessor genuinely impressed us. New features such as Tip Sensor technology and twice as many pressure levels make it ideal for photographic applications. Intuos4 offers improved control and precise results. We therefore regard it as an important digital-market tool for professionals and enthusiasts alike.”
Its ergonomic design makes the ultra-slim Intuos4 ideal for creative digital-media work. A new reversible design positions every ExpressKey optimally for both right- and left-handed users. Small OLED displays show current ExpressKey assignments. The Intuos4 Grip Pen uses proprietary Wacom Tip Sensor technology: the minimum recognised pressure approaches zero—one gram—for a more natural writing and drawing feel. Intuos4 also recognises 2,048 pressure levels.
Users benefit from major upgrades to Wacom’s powerful, user-friendly driver software, including Precision Mode and Radial Menus. Precision Mode slows the on-screen pen-tip response for particularly accurate work. Radial Menus use a hierarchical display for rapid activation of frequently used functions.
Users can choose among high-quality software packages including solutions from Adobe, Autodesk and Corel. Intuos4 is available in four sizes: S (€224.90), M (€369.90), L (€479.90) and XL (€799.90), including VAT.
