The answer lies in the vastness of the sky, where clouds create newborns and bring them to life. Lonely cloud Gus, with an increased chance of rain, is the expert in dangerous baby animals such as crocodiles, little sharks, and porcupines. His wild creations present a genuine challenge for Peck the stork, his loyal baby courier. The injuries inflicted by the increasingly rough offspring leave poor Peck looking like a plucked chicken and almost fearing for life and limb. What should he do? He looks somewhat enviously at his colleagues, who are sent to Earth by “their” clouds with cute little rabbits, kittens, and human babies. Should Peck quit? Yet he does not want to anger his hot-tempered friend Gus, because a thunderstorm would be unavoidable.
PARTLY CLOUDY is the thunderously funny directorial debut of Peter Sohn, who has been part of Pixar Animation Studios’ animation department for around ten years. Kevin Reher (“A BUG’S LIFE”) served as producer.
UP is Disney/Pixar’s tenth animated feature and opens together with PARTLY CLOUDY in German cinemas on 17 September 2009, including in Disney Digital 3D in selected auditoriums.
