In recent weeks, 1.1 million viewers have already seen the new Sony Pictures film “Angels & Demons.” The film offers a strong mixture of action-packed and suspenseful moments - scenes in which detail often matters. Sony is therefore offering the film to numerous cinemas as a 4K Digital Cinema Package. Thanks to the higher resolution and digital projection, viewers can immerse themselves in a unique cinema experience featuring brilliant, highly detailed images. Rory Bruer, President of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution, says: “We are very proud to be able to show ‘Angels & Demons’ in 4K. The picture and sound quality are breathtaking and demonstrate impressively what digital projection can truly offer.”
Sony is an innovation leader and the only manufacturer of 4K projectors. Their resolution is four times higher than Full HD images or 2K projectors. Sony’s CineAlta 4K projection system consists of an SRX-R220 D-Cinema projector, LMT-200 D-Cinema server, and LSM-100 Screen Management System software. “Our 4K projectors offer audiences an unforgettable cinema experience,” says Oliver Pasch, Head of Digital Cinema at Sony. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Sony Pictures to drive the conversion of cinemas to digital cinema worldwide.”
