NVIDIA is presenting several new GPU-based plug-in solutions for Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4). They have been optimised specifically for use with NVIDIA Quadro graphics solutions.
The available plug-ins include the NVIDIA CUDA-based Elemental Accelerator 2.0 for Windows from Elemental Technologies. Based on the parallel CUDA computing architecture, the new plug-in transfers H.264 video encoding to the Quadro GPU. For users of Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, this means an elevenfold performance increase compared with a purely CPU-based video encoder. Elemental Accelerator 2.0 is available for numerous Quadro GPUs and now supports the creation of Blu-ray Discs and web content in Flash format. NVIDIA and Elemental Technologies are also introducing an accelerated H.264 video-encoding solution for Mac Pro users for the first time: the new Elemental Accelerator 1.2 for Mac OS X, running on the Quadro FX 4800 for Mac.
NVIDIA Quadro GPUs are optimised for GPU acceleration across all Adobe CS4 applications, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Flash, and Photoshop. From importing files and editing video streams to video previews, users can now optimise their workflow and accelerate and improve the creative process.
