According to Ubisoft, the title takes players deeper into the heart of Pandora, an alien planet beyond imagination. They encounter the Na’vi, Pandora’s indigenous population, and discover creatures and other life forms that, according to Ubisoft, have never before been seen in the world of video games. When conflict breaks out between the Na’vi and the RDA Corporation, a space consortium searching for valuable resources, the player is drawn into a battle for the heart of the planet and the fate of an entire civilisation.
“In technical terms, we have quite a lot in common with Ubisoft and the video-games industry,” Cameron said during the press conference. “We use highly sophisticated techniques in the production of Avatar, so when selecting a video-game partner we considered not only how fully it could express its creativity in the world of Avatar, but also whether it could meet our technical requirements. Ubisoft was and remains such a partner.”
