“The excellent reception of our seminars last year gives us momentum to continue and further develop the professional-development programme,” says Walter Hölzl, who is responsible for the series at Bavaria Film. “From autumn 2009, we can therefore offer a broad range of high-quality seminars with outstanding instructors. We are very pleased that this gives us the opportunity to fulfil our responsibility in education and professional development, and we hope to expand it further in the coming years.”
Alongside classic subjects in screenwriting, film technology and production, one focus of the seminar series is aimed at educators. In addition to seminars on organising film projects with children and young people and grading film work, there are introductory and advanced courses in visual composition. A large proportion of the seminars are recognised as teacher training by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs and can also be booked through FIBS (http://fortbildung.schule.bayern.de).
All seminars take place at Bavaria Filmstadt Geiselgasteig. Participation costs €165 per seminar, or €150 with the early-booking discount. The complete six-month programme is available at http://www.bavaria-film.de/seminare.
