Sid, Scrat and company have done it - after 13 years, “The Lion King” must vacate its throne: with current box-office revenue of 50,409,025 euros, ICE AGE 3 is the most successful animated film of all time in Germany* - after only six weeks! In addition, the ICE AGE trilogy now occupies positions 1, 3 and 5 in the all-time top ten animated films.

ICE AGE 3 continues to rank near the top of the cinema charts and welcomed a further 216,340 visitors last week. Since the film opened, this produces a total attendance of 7,740,293.

Thanks to the unbeatable mixture of perfect family entertainment, adventurous cinema fun and Otto Waalkes as the voice of Sid, Ice Age 3 continues to ride the wave of success without slowing and has become this summer’s hit film for young and old.

With its sensational box-office performance in the 3D version, ICE AGE 3 also proves that its creators captured the spirit of the times precisely, thereby rewarding those cinema operators who had the right instinct and converted their cinemas to digital 3D in good time.
