For “This is Love” (cinema release November 12), the new film by Matthias Glasner (“Der freie Wille”), rise fx designed several unusual effects shots.
These include a 16-second camera flight over Potsdamer Platz in 1992, directly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and a 14-second car crash in which the handheld camera follows the action over the lead actor’s shoulder. Both shots were created entirely in Nuke with elaborate 3D composites in a very short time.
