Sky is further expanding distribution of its seven HD channels on German cable: the pay-TV provider has concluded agreements with Deutsche Netz Marketing GmbH (DNMG) to carry all seven HD channels available from Sky. DNMG is an association of more than 140 cable-network operators across Germany. The cable operators will now carry Sky Sport HD, Sky Cinema HD, Disney Cinemagic HD, Eurosport HD, Discovery HD, National Geographic HD and History HD on their respective networks. Until now, only four Sky HD channels were available on each of these cable networks.

“With the agreement now concluded, Sky’s complete HD offering—in addition to every satellite household—is available to around 70 per cent of all cable-television households in Germany,” explains Mark Williams, CEO of Sky Deutschland AG. Sky HD launched in July as Germany and Austria’s first comprehensive HDTV offering with seven channels.
